CyberThreats 2022 DAY 1: Cybersecurity in a Rapidly Changing World

The cybersecurity landscape has never been more complicated. The Russian invasion of Ukraine prompted cybersecurity alerts across government agencies and critical infrastructure sectors. After the pandemic forced millions to work from home and security professionals adapted to protecting networks without traditional perimeters, new hybrid work models are emerging. Ransomware wreaked havoc on organizations large and small, government and private sector alike. The new administration issued an executive order requiring all federal agencies to adopt zero trust solutions as quickly as possible, with deadlines to match.

At the same time, the IT sector has continued innovating. New tools and technologies are emerging to provide greater transparency into and security for network operations. Microsegmentation, for example, allows security managers to implement controls at a granular level for monitoring and protecting against lateral movement by threat actors that manage to penetrate a network. Gartner’s secure access service edge (SASE) cloud-based framework outlines the convergence of software-defined networking and security capabilities.

Join us as thought leaders from agencies and companies alike share their organizations’ experiences adapting in real time to creating cross-functional teams and implementing security at the edge.
