7th Counter-Insider Threat Symposium

The 2022 Counter Insider Threat Symposium will focus on the plans, procedures, technologies, essential for identifying, preventing, and protecting against insider risks. Accelerating the implementation of effective insider threat programs and solutions is a main priority for the US Government and private sector. According to the 2022 Cost of Insider Threats Global Report released by the Ponemon Institute, insider threats have increased in frequency and cost over the last years. The report determined InT incidents are up 44% in 2022, the time to contain an InT increased from 77 days to 85 days, negligent insiders accounted for 56% of all InT incidents ($484,931 per incident), and malicious insiders caused 26% of InT incidents, costing $648,062 per incident. This year’s event will convene speakers from the DoD, DHS, IC, Federal Agencies, Industry, and Academia to discuss the current strategies and programs designed to mitigate the threats of today and examine the ways to prevent the threats of tomorrow.
