Enhance and Extend: Zero Trust Principles and Identity Management
This event qualifies for 1 CPEs
Approaching the one-year anniversary of the Office of Management and Budget’s memorandum on “Moving the U.S. Government Toward Zero Trust Cybersecurity Principles,” this session will reflect on how agencies are meeting the specific criteria while utilizing ZT architecture. OMB’s memorandum involves centralizing identity management to provide enterprise identity and access management services to reduce the burden on agency staff to manage individual accounts and credentials. However, this centralization does not mean there will be only one singular policy engine, policy decision point, or policy enforcement point set in place.
A Zero-Trust approach to security allows for a defensible architecture in a new environment. ZT does not mean ripping out existing infrastructure and replacing it with the newest trend. ZT relies on the ability to enhance and extend your existing security protocols. Listen in as topic experts explore how legislation has pushed their agency to modernize and any hurdles they’ve had to face. This session will also include discussion of the roles of Zero Trust and identity practices.
