The Future of Military Space:  Capturing Today’s Solutions for Tomorrow’s Capabilities
1:40 p.m. ET
With the increasing importance of space as a strategic domain for global competition in military and commercial functions, industry must position itself to meet growing demands from both federal and private sector entities. What cutting-edge technologies might prove critical to military missions going forward?  How does the Intelligence Community approach space?  How can the defense industry best straddle the line between government and commercial requirements?

In this session, hear from current and former government executives from both civilian and military space components discuss:

Microelectronics – A Case Study on Industrial Base Security and Resilience
2:50 p.m. ET
As reflected in the 2022 National Defense Strategy, strengthening domestic sources and working with U.S. allies and partners to secure critical resources is critical to U.S. national and economic security. Using the microelectronics market as a case study, this panel will explore ways in which the CHIPS Act is impacting the defense market; the shape and scale of current domestic mining operations; strengthening relations with allies and partners for critical supplies; and “Whole of Government” policy initiatives that are underway to balance near-term requirements with a longer-term goal of supporting domestic production capacity.

In this session, hear from government and industry representatives on how best to address known domestic shortfalls in critical materials.  Learn about:

  • U.S. commercial and partner nation fabrication efforts;
  • Intellectual property ownership and challenges, and
  • Strategies employed to leverage the commercial market for DoD needs.

Panelists:
Dr. Nicholas Martin, Director, Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA)

How are U.S. officials working to incorporate ally and partner perspectives?

In this session, hear from senior leaders on:
