GOVERNING Summit on Healthy Living - 2012

GOVERNING’S Healthy Living Summit, held in Atlanta at the Botanical Gardens on December 6, 2011, was a major success!

This summit was born out of a need to address increasing healthcare costs as they are impacted by obesity. Recognizing that social and environmental determinants shape health outcomes, the 2012 Healthy Living Summit agenda will continue the discourse around healthy community strategies incorporating:

• Policy and Planning
• Transportation
• Public Safety
• Education
• Nutrition

To help government executives address this critical issue, GOVERNING will host its second intergovernmental and inter-sector effort elevating national attention and local action toward a social movement around healthier living.  The Summit provides leaders with model policy and outcome-based programs to make a difference in their communities.
