Unlocking Economic Mobility in Your Community

Economic mobility is essential to the future well-being of a community. With the right investments and policies, cities and counties can help residents improve their financial wellbeing, and break cycles of generational poverty. But data is key. Before investing in new economic mobility programs, local leaders need to know what works – and what doesn’t.

A newly updated resource from the nonprofit Results for America -- the Economic Mobility Catalog -- gives cities and counties the research and evidence they need to launch new programs aimed at increasing economic mobility in their own community.

On May 31 at 11am PST/2 pm EST, join Governing for a special one-hour webinar on this comprehensive resource. Our panel includes speakers from Results for America; the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which supported the development of the guide; and local government leaders working to improve economic mobility for their constituents.

In this discussion, you’ll learn:

  • Some of the most common challenges and best ideas for building successful economic mobility programs to help children, youth and families
  • How to use Results for America’s free catalog of evidence-based case studies
  • How to pay for these programs, including with federal funds from the American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA)
