Keynote Speaker: Thomas Redman, PhD. President, Navesink Consulting Group Dr. Thomas C. Redman, "the Data Doc," is President of Navesink Consulting Group, based in Rumson, NJ. Dr. Redman was the first to extend quality principles to data and information. He has helped hundreds of organizations understand the importance of data, start their data programs, make order-of-magnitude improvements to data quality and, by doing so, lower costs, increase revenues, improve customer satisfaction, and make more confident planning decisions. Dr. Redman holds two patents and is an internationally known lecturer and the author of dozens of papers. His fourth book, Data Driven: Profiting from Your Most Important Business Asset (Harvard Business Press) is a Library Journal Best Business Book of 2008. Founder and CEO, Data Blueprint Associate Professor, Virginia Commonwealth University President, DAMA International Dr. Peter Aiken is consistently named as one of the top ten data management thought leaders. He is the founding director of Data Blueprint, a Richmond, Virginia-based data management and IT consulting firm, Associate Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Information Systems, and President of DAMA International. With over 30 years of experience in more than 500 data management practices across 20 countries, Peter is a highly desired keynote speaker at conferences and workshops around the world. Data problems are one of the key issues facing organizations as the pace of international commerce and cooperation increases around the world. Peter previously held the position of Computer Scientist with Offices of the CIO of the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency. He has consulted with numerous organizations to help them improve the value of their data. Various initiatives from outsourcing to extreme systems development to business engineering increasingly rely on good quality data exchanges. Peter’s research methods, associates, and projects increase the effectiveness with which data assets are focused in support of organizational strategy. Peter has authored and co-authored seven books and numerous other publications that have appeared in Communications of the ACM, IEEE Computer, the IBM Systems Journal, Information Week and numerous others. His achievements have resulted in recognition as one of 2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century and bibliographic entries in Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in American Education and other biographical compilations. John Hurley, PhD. Professor, National Defense University (NDU) Dr. Hurley is a Professor of Information Strategies at the National Defense University (NDU) iCollege. Previously he served as the Senior Research Scientist and Principal Investigator for a National Nuclear Security Administration Grant for Disaster Recovery, Wilberforce, OH. Prior to that, he worked as the Senior Manager, Distributed Computing in the Networked Systems Division, The Boeing Company, Bellevue, WA. Dr. Hurley was Professor of Electrical Engineering and Director of three research centers (Scalable and Embedded Applications Center, Materials Processing Assessment and Characterization Center, and Avalon Scalable Embedded Computing Center) and Co-Director, Army Center of Excellence in Electronic Sensors and Combat at Clark Atlanta University, in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Hurley served as the Editor-at-Large, Former GridToday Publications, Tabor Communications; Senior Advisor, National University Community Research Institute, and former Member of the Advisory committee, Open Grid Forum (OGF). Most recently Dr. Hurley served as co-host of 2012 CIO Bootcamp and Offsite. He also serves as an Advisor to HPCintheClouds Publication, Tabor Communications, and the Manager of new Cyberspace Strategies course at the NDU iCollege. His research interests include Distributed Computing, IT Resource Management and Sharing, Data- and Compute-Intensive Applications, Information Assurance and Cyberspace strategies. Randall L. Kline Director, Enterprise Data Management Office, Logistics Support Activity, Army Material Command Mr. Kline has distinguished himself throughout his 38 years of exceptionally meritorious service to the Army providing leadership and expertise in Information Technology and Management. He currently serves as the USAMC Logistics Support Activity Enterprise Data Management Office Director. The Enterprise Data Management Office serves as the executive agent for Department of Army G4 Logistics Domain. As Director, Mr. Kline serves as the data focal point for Army Logistic Domain. He is responsible for overall operations and planning for the Data Management Program and the support to the DA G4 and Army Materiel Command. Mr. Kline’s career is marked by consistently exceptional achievement and flexibility in responding to the Army’s needs by performing a full spectrum of challenging multi-functional Information Technology and Logistics assignments. He continues to support and provide key leadership to a team of senior professionals responsible for the analysis and resolution of data integrity issues within the Army. Additionally, he provides outstanding leadership and a profound understanding of Information Technology support, and sets the standard for Data Management to ensure data integrity for AMC and Army. Mr. Kline has been awarded numerous awards and citations throughout his career.
