Agile Oversight in Times of Crises

Agile oversight products highlight issues requiring immediate action for oversight officials or stakeholders. Providing timely information to stakeholders can be challenging but during a time of crisis it’s critical for decision-makers. This course focuses specifically on the best practices for performing agile oversight and overcoming the challenges auditors and oversight professionals experience. The course is specifically designed for auditors who work with state & local government organizations.

Participants will work in small groups to:

•Explain common challenges performing agile oversight while following Government Auditing Standards and how to overcome them

•Identify the primary situations for agile products

•Identify the key principles to follow when performing agile oversight

•Demonstrate an understanding of the key concepts of internal control

•Identify and apply the five components of internal control and related principles during audits

•Cite auditor responsibilities for the detection of fraud

•Define fraud and the three components of the fraud triangle

•Identify common fraud schemes during times of crisis
