This course serves as an introduction and guidance on construction oversight and inspections associated with the construction or modification of a dam and appurtenant structures.

 

Learning objectives attendees will receive from this course:

  • Importance of dam construction documentation and record-keeping.

Senior Dams and Water Resources Engineer


Terry is a registered professional engineer and senior dams and water resources engineer in the Denver office of AECOM. His professional career has focused on dam engineering and dam safety services including investigation, design, and construction. Construction projects include rehabilitation of existing dams, enlargement of existing dams, and construction of new earth-rock dams and roller compacted concrete dams.

Civil/Structural Engineer


Henrik has 17 years of experience in civil/structural engineering. Henrik has experience in condition assessment, evaluation and design of heavy civil public works projects (including concrete/embankment dams and appurtenant structures), and hydraulic structures.

Senior Technician/Civil Specialist


Bill has more than 30 years of experience in the consulting and construction industry. Bill learned construction literally from the ground up as a technician testing soil, concrete, and geosynthetics, and now supports the design and construction of new dams and dam modification projects.
