13th Annual Military Tactical Communications Summit
The 13th Annual Military Tactical Communications Summit will bring together top experts and decision makers from the DoD, Military Services, Industry, and Academia for comprehensive discussions focused on upgrading tactical communications and improving network capabilities to support the Joint Force. The 2024 Summit will aim to advance rapid, resilient, affordable, and unified communication capabilities to enable sustained mission success across all domain.
This year’s Summit will provide a forum for Government and Industry leaders to convene and discuss the latest developments, projects, and partnerships concerning tactical communications. The DoD, in partnership with other agencies and private industry, has undertaken initiatives to enhance tactical communication systems and capabilities. Collaborations between defense agencies have resulted in the development of advanced communication systems and tools, enabling comprehensive data fusion and analysis through the leveraging of AI and ML. Further, the Summit will provide the opportunity for senior government leaders to address challenges linked to tactical communications developments such as protection against cyber and electronic warfare threats.
The USG and DoD have been heavily involved in special programming around the use of tactical communications within defense operations, disaster response, and resilience, as well as space-based communication systems. There is a growing push for national spending on communication infrastructure and its impact on defense capabilities and national security. Proposed amendments to the Communications Act would close gaps in the original legislation and push the nation closer to a shared infrastructure for the collection and dissemination of communication data.
This year’s Military Tactical Communications Summit panel of experts will speak to the Army’s network modernization strategy aimed at strengthening the capacity and resiliency of tactical network capabilities. Additionally, advancing space-based tactical communications to support ground operations and enhancing USAF tactical communications for cyberspace and information dominance are just a couple of the broad range of topics that will be broached at this year’s iteration.
