Region 6 Roundtable & Town Hall on Mentor-Protege Agreements

This is the first strategic activity to focus exclusively on the Mentor-Protégé programs in federal contracting. This roundtable will bring together top government officials and seasoned government contractors for two days.

The expressed purpose is to help attendees take advantage of the opportunities that the Mentor-Program has to offer. This is a time when government guidelines have become increasingly difficult to follow and contractors face challenges unlike any time in the past.

Outcomes:

We plan to produce a digital document/book/report/or whitepaper from the roundtable discussions with our industry comments and forward our ideas to Congress:

  1. Best Practices in Mentor-Protégé Programs
  2. Barriers to Mentor-Protégé Successful Programs
  3. Industry Recommendations for Legislative Consideration to Improve and expand the Mentor-Protégé

We are using a town hall approach with opportunities to ask questions and give your input to getting jobs out on the street.

If you agree that mentor-protege agreements work were there is an explicit policy commitment  by government to involve the private sector; a clear long-term political will; and a high-quality agreement that is transparent to both parties; then join us in March to be part of the solution.
