Modeling the Culture: Impact and Influence

This CorWellness presentation will focus on the impact and influence that leaders can have within an organization’s recruitment and retention. Leaders can help build a healthy agency culture by providing clear direction about the mission and vision of the agency and visibly modeling that mission and vision. The presenters will also remind people of their “why”—the reasons they entered the corrections profession—and how it can help improve the culture within the agency.

The goal of CorWellness, a national Bureau of Justice Assistance-funded initiative, is to develop and deliver no-cost training and resources to improve correctional officer and staff safety, wellness, resilience, and retention.
