35th Annual Special Operations Symposium
Complex, dynamic, asymmetric, technological, and intense – all are adjectives commonly used to describe modern conflict. Importantly, these are all adjectives that play to the strengths of special operations. While the return to great strategic competition has changed the stakes and arenas of conflict, its fundamental nature has not changed. If Special Operations Forces (SOF) can harness new tools to age old SOF truths, it can continue to be the tipping point it has been in the past, helping to quietly avoid conflicts and violently win when they do occur.
