Navigating DDIL, Tactical Edge and Data-Centric ZTNA Solutions | Maintaining Secure Network Communications in Contested Environments

The U.S. Military, Department of Defense (DOD), U.S. Intelligence Community (IC) and select civilian agencies face a critical exposure challenge. Traditional VPNs and existing security protocols can no longer provide secure network communications in contested environments.

So, what do you do when your special purpose tactical network communications are not effective or when you must operate through a ‘dirty internet’ connection? An extra layer of security is required for mission effectiveness in Denied, Degraded, Intermittent and Limited Bandwidth (DDIL) environments and the tactical edge. Even working in the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS) would be more effective with this added data-centric security layer. This requires proper tagging and labeling to ensure the right user gains access to the right data at the right time.
