ASTD: Sharpening the Critical Thinking Skills of Government Leaders

Already registered for this year's ASTD International Conference in Dallas? If so, do not miss this session in the Government Pavilion (Session T21GOV), featuring Dr. Haywood Spangler, co-developer of AMA Enterprise’s Critical Thinking for Government seminar.

This session will provide attendees with the tools they need to develop the critical thinking skills necessary to tackle the unique challenges facing government today. Dr. Spangler will outline a roadmap for developing these important skills, and will facilitate an interactive exercise to provide attendees an example of how to learn this vital skill.

Dr. Spangler's session will help government employees discover how these skills allow you to challenge old assumptions; rethink conventional approaches in the context of today's realities; choose the right techniques to identify important information, recognize assumptions and draw conclusions; and learn tools and tips on applying critical thinking in the government workplace.

American Management Association (AMA) will have four additional sessions during ASTD, including "Leading in a Worldwide Market," on Sunday, May 19 from 3:30-5:00pm (session SU309). The panel of thought leaders in this session include Edward T. Reilly, President and CEO of AMA; Marshall Goldsmith, Author, Executive Coach, Marshall Goldsmith Group; Stephen M.R. Covey, Cofounder, CoveyLink and the FranklinCovey Global Speed of Trust Practice; and Ken Blanchard, Chief Spiritual Officer, The Ken Blanchard Companies.

Don't forget to stop by AMA's booth (#809)!
