Army National Guard Logistics Management Seminar & Exposition 2010

LMS  BACKGROUND

In only 3 short years, the Army National Guard (ARNG) Logistics Management Seminar (LMS) has grown from 400 participants to more than 1,400 in attendance; and all indicators show that more growth is on the horizon.  The initial mission of the LMS was to once, annually, bring together the leaders of the ARNG logistics community to discuss current issues and to be briefed on hot topics challenging those working in the ARNG logistics division.   Attendance, including exhibitor participation, peaked at 400.

A CHANGE IN DIRECTION

In 2008 the vision for the LMS changed in response to the operationalizing of the ARNG.  The ARNG logistics community was determined to create a premier logistics event, which would  provide a forum in which we could all come together to  review the full scope of critical and current logistics information, techniques and technologies. Additionally, to the greatest extent possible, all ARNG logistics division-sponsored conferences and workshops have been combined into this one, annual event.

CONFERENCE MISSION

The mission of the Logistics Management Seminar is to provide an opportunity to promote synergy and cohesion throughout the national logistics community through networking, logistics skills and information sharing of best practices. In keeping with the Guard's reputation for innovation to meet its many challenges, guest speakers from academia, industry and other elements of the Department of Defense are invited to bring their unique perspective to the theme for each year's conference.

FULL SPECTRUM LOGISTICS

The 2008 conference broke all records in not only attendance, but also in the diversity of logistics functional areas represented.  Attendance for the 2009 LMS not only maxed out the capacity for the conference facility being used, but also broke records for number of non-commissioned officers in attendance.  The ARNG LMS can now boast that its attendees represent the full spectrum of logisticians, from those making the money decisions to those putting the outcome of those decisions into practice.

CONFERENCE PARTICIPANTS

The annual LMS brings together not only the leaders of ARNG logistics, but the entire ARNG logistics community including the Directors of Logistics and the United States Property and Fiscal Officers in addition to logisticians representing functional areas including:

  • Aviation Logistics
  • Food Service Professionals
  • Logistics Automation
