7th National Emergency Management Summit

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED

Over the past ten years an extraordinary confluence of events, both environmental and geopolitical, has created a heightened risk and a heightened awareness of natural disasters, epidemics, and terrorism in the United States. The National Emergency Management Summit seeks to assess these risks and articulate practical approaches to strategies for planning, response and recovery.

For 2013 the Summit will be in Atlantic City, roughly a year after Hurricane Sandy, to talk about these themes of planning, response, and recovery, as well as resilience, compassion, generosity, communication, small acts of heroism, and lessons learned.

GENERAL PURPOSE STATEMENT

  • To increase knowledge on how we can best prepare for disasters (pandemics, terrorism, and catastrophic natural events), use scarce resources wisely, respond more effectively, enhance resiliency, and create new partnerships.
