AI for Higher Education Staff: Practical Applications and Human + AI Collaboration

AI for Higher Education Staff supports higher education professionals in developing a practical and adaptable approach to working with AI. Through asynchronous guided exploration and live discussions, participants build confidence experimenting with AI tools while maintaining human oversight as technologies and expectations continue to evolve.

The 2-week online program includes 5 modules and takes a minimum of 5–6 hours to complete. Participants will have access to the program for 1 year.

Learning Goals

  • Collaborate effectively with AI tools by applying human judgment, context, and accountability to AI-supported tasks and decisions.
  • Experiment with AI tools by trying, refining, and iterating on use cases without expecting perfect results.
  • Learn from AI outputs that miss the mark by reflecting on what worked, what didn’t, and how to adjust.
  • Navigate uncertainty around AI use by making informed decisions even when tools, information, or expectations are still evolving.
  • Identify job-related tasks where AI can provide support while recognizing when human judgment is essential.
  • Build an adaptable personal AI toolkit that aligns with individual roles, responsibilities, and workplace contexts.
  • Exchange ideas with peers about opportunities, constraints, and experiences using AI across diverse higher education environments.
