The 2026 NDIA Human Systems Division conference will explore the theme “Human Systems for a Secure and Resilient Future,” emphasizing the critical role of human systems in preparing for and adapting to a rapidly evolving threat landscape. As the pace of technological, geopolitical, and environmental change accelerates, the need for agile, human-centered systems has never been more urgent.
This year’s theme highlights how human systems research and development must not only keep pace with the rate of change but also proactively shape the infrastructure, technologies, and policies that underpin national security and resilience. The conference will spotlight innovations and strategies that ensure our systems (and the people within them) remain adaptive, effective, and secure. Concluding the four-part series, Digital Transformation for Acquisition (DxA) Moving Faster than Bullet Time will feature a fireside chat focused on accelerating acquisition through digital transformation.
This session will feature Will Roper, CEO of Istari and former Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (SAF/AQ). Drawing on experience across government, industry, and academia, Will will share insights from advancing digital acquisition practices and implementing DxA across diverse environments.
The conversation will be moderated by Bess Dopkeen, former Special Advisor to the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering and former Professional Staff Member on the House Armed Services Committee. Together, they will explore how digital approaches can help acquisition organizations move faster and deliver capability at speed.


NDIA’s 2026 Undersea Warfare Spring Conference, will take place March 23 - 25, 2026, in San Diego, CA.
This in-person conference serves as the leading forum for networking and learning in the undersea warfare community. Connect with the brightest minds and gain insight into the latest requirements and developments in undersea warfare, including those related to countering submarine and mine threats as well as power projection from the sea.
Please be aware this conference has a limited capacity, and registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to high demand, we expect the conference to reach its full capacity. The Integrated Program Management Division (IPMD) leads the advancement of Integrated Program Management (IPM) through industry and government collaboration. As the steward of the EIA-748 Standard for Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), IPMD shapes industry best practices, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and accountability in program execution. The Division fosters a dynamic forum for government, industry, and academia to address challenges, share insights, and enhance IPM disciplines.

This convening of industry, investors, and senior government decision-makers will mark the publication of a new research report by the NDIA Emerging Technologies Institute, Mobilizing Capital for Defense: Tactics and Recommendations. This event will be open to members of the press.
The report outlines how the Department of Defense primarily mobilizes private investment through three levers: demand signals, catalytic capital, and an investable business environment, and why these tools are most powerful when used together. Drawing on interviews and recent case studies, the report describes how investors evaluate the defense industrial base, and where current government processes can inhibit the business case for investment.
The program includes a brief overview of key findings, as well as panel presentations focused on practical steps forward. Refreshments will be provided.

The Mastering the Art of Business Development® Workshop is an educational and professional development program which focuses on the thinking, process and discipline required for professional Business Development. This 2-day workshop fosters participants’ understanding of the core competencies required for success in the Business Development role.
Business Development is primarily a relationship development and intelligence gathering process. Participants will learn how to leverage the principles of behavioral psychology to identify valid prospects and pipeline opportunities, effectively qualify them and develop win-win business relationships for their organizations, their clients and themselves.
This interactive, participant-centered workshop introduces the MBDi Business Development Process®, with its early shaping Opportunity Identification & Qualification component and the MBDi HUMINT® Client Engagement Process. This Client Engagement Process guides participants through a series of planning phases and client engagement steps designed to change how participants think, behave and engage prospects and clients within their Business Development role.
