14th Annual Naval IT Day

AFCEA NOVA is proud to host the information packed 14th Annual Naval IT Day, a “must attend” conference for anyone interested in information technology business with the US Maritime agencies, including the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.

This outstanding event draws extraordinary attendance because it provides an ethical forum to engage directly with senior technology and acquisition leaders. Invited senior decision makers from organizations inside and outside the Beltway include the:

  • Secretary of the Navy and senior staff
  • Chief of Naval Operations and senior staff
  • Commandant of the Marine Corps and senior staff
  • Department of Navy’s Chief Information Officer
  • Navy and Marine Corps Systems Acquisition Commands
  • Program Executive Officers
  • Major Program Managers
  • Navy Cyber Command
  • Related IT organizations such as DISA and the DoD CIO’s senior staff

Civilian and Military leaders will discuss current initiatives for new programs as well as strategies to evolve current programs in light of budget uncertainty and new DoD initiatives such as the Joint Information Environment. For attendees, this dynamic and high-powered conference will highlight major technology initiatives underway across the Naval enterprise, including:

  • Cyber Security
  • Mobility
  • Assured C2
  • Cloud Computing, Virtualization & Data Center Consolidation
  • JIE / ICITE

Naval IT leaders value the opportunity to speak at this IT Day because the venue is local to DC headquarters and the event draws a significant number of attendees – including high-level leadership from industry, academia, and AFCEA – as well as their peers in US national security organizations. Leaders often use this IT Day to break new announcements, such as new programs, new policy, and new organizational changes.

In one content-packed day, business developers, business leaders, executive managers, and technical leaders have the opportunity to gain outstanding insight into the vision and future directions of the Naval Forces. Through interaction at the IT Day – and from relationships formed there – attendees will have opportunities to provide feedback and ideas to these Naval IT leaders about new capabilities new ways to reduce costs.

Of special note is the small business program which facilitates small business in making direct connections with potential teaming partners at a small-business-to-large-business networking event during the day.

Transitioning Government/Military

AFCEA NOVA is reaching out to help our transitioning Active Duty Military and Government Civilians into the civilian sector! If you or someone you know is on the transition track, and part of what we will discuss is timing, (ie, it can’t be too soon to start!), come to our table set up in the networking area and we will have our experts there to talk to you about transitioning, do resume reviews, and discuss any of your questions!
