Next Generation of Government Training Summit

This event qualifies for 12 CPEs

The NextGen Summit is a place to cultivate and enable the absolute best next generation of government. Whether you’re a millennial just entering the government workforce or a manager tasked with retaining and developing talent, or a seasoned public servant looking for new resources or challenges, the NextGen Summit is where you want to be.

Since 2010, the two-day summit has inspired over 4,000 federal, state and local govies to be positive change ambassadors. You’ll be joined by peers in over 50 agencies, such as DoD, HUD, HHS, and your fellow govies from state and local governments.

Are you ready to make productive change in government? Work together with your peers and make an impact from within? Help retain excellent employees in the public sector?

Then you’re in the right place — it’s what NextGen is all about!

NextGen is a movement. It’s about inspiring government innovation. It’s about providing training and leadership opportunities to people new in government. It’s about helping managers bridge the generation gap to help develop and retain new talent. It’s about creating the absolute best next generation of government.

NextGen does all of this by providing these programs for government employees:

  • NextGen Groups: There are agency, office and department-level NextGen groups within government.
  • Training Summit: Since 2010, the two-day summit has inspired over 4000 federal, state and local govies to be positive change ambassadors.
  • Awards Program: Each year, NextGen recognizes and celebrates individuals and teams who exemplify public service and achievement.
  • Webinars and Workshops: Leaders from government will dive into important career building topics in webinars and in-person workshops in Washington, D.C.

All of these activities are organized and promoted by GovLoop and Young Government Leaders.

GovLoop is the Knowledge Network for Government – the premier social network connecting over 200,000 federal, state, and local government innovators. GovLoop’s mission is simple: connect government to improve government. GovLoop is a great resource to connect with peers, share best practices, and find career-building opportunities.

Young Government Leaders (YGL) is a professional organization for government employees who are “young” in their service and/or “fresh” in their perspective. YGL’s mission is to educate, inspire, and transform the current and future leaders of government. YGL is committed to serving as a coordinated voice for the current and future generations of young government leaders by providing a community of leadership through professional development activities, networking opportunities, social events, seminars, fellowships, and scholarships.
