ACT-IAC Small Business Alliance: Agile Acqusition & Contracting

This event qualifies for 4 CLPs

Agencies such as Department of Homeland Security, Health and Human Services, and General Services Administration are among the many that indicate they rely on the Agile approach to IT development. Additionally several agencies have recently urged their procurement offices to operate using Agile principles in addition to buying from known Agile Services vendors.  As the pressure continues to mount on Federal agencies to embrace Agile development methodologies, Federal Chief Information Officers (CIO) have noted that long-standing acquisition processes and habits inhibit success. In turn, acquisition professionals are uncertain of how to acquire and ensure that agencies receive fair price on Agile services, since those services are expected to change significantly throughout their delivery.

Join the ACT-IAC Small Business Alliance on Tuesday, May 2nd, 2017 for Agile Acquisition & Contracting.  This half day seminar will gather leaders from a broad cross-section of Federal agencies to share lessons learned as it relates to the acquisition of agile services, the perceived chasm between changing IT needs and long standing procurement requirements and the way to overcome those challenges to help agencies acquire services from an agile provider.

Attendees can expect the opportunity to:

  • Discuss challenges and opportunities associated with procuring Agile IT services with federal leaders
  • Understand the perceived chasm between changing IT needs and long standing; procurement requirements
  • Identify ways to overcome those challenges in the Federal Government to help agencies acquire services from an Agile provider;
  • Plan and use Agile methods within a procurement organization; and
  • Identify the results and benefits of Agile procurement.
