CMMC: Moving the Security Model Beyond DoD
This event qualifies for 1 CPEs
DOD put into effect at the end of Nov. 2020 a new DFARS rule that requires Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) for all DOD contractors. Although anticipated for some time, questions remain about the certification process and the scope. The rule requires that contractors register on the Supplier Performance Risk System, produce and maintain a System Security Plan and a Plan of Actions and Milestones. In addition, each company is required to do a self-assessment of the 110 controls of NIST SP 800-171. Companies will later be audited by third party auditors. The General Services Administration has indicated it will also be adding CMMC qualifications to many of its contracts and has begun to do so.
This webcast will explore what contractors and government acquisition professionals need to know to about how to navigate this new security environment.
