AFCEA is a world-wide association of businessmen and women working together with members of the Armed Forces to visualize the future technological needs of the next-generation warfighter, to respond to those needs through research and development, and to encourage college-bound young men and women to pursue studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) curricula. To that end, the Hampton Roads Chapter holds an annual Golf Tournament to raise money to fund STEM scholarships in Southside Hampton Roads.
The local Hampton Roads Chapter of AFCEA has raised over one-half million dollars over the past 35 years from our Annual Charity Golf Classic. The money has helped hundreds of students and teachers in the local area, and we thank you for your contributions. We could not have done it without you!
Our 36th Annual Golf Tournament will be held on Thursday, September 10th, 2026, at Sewells Point Golf Course. The course is located at 660 Ruthven Road, Norfolk, VA 23505. We expect 100+ golfers to participate, so we will have a 12:00 PM shotgun start. To ensure genuine success, we need continued support and participation from sponsors like you. Support may be in the form of Sponsorships: Tier, Pavilion, Team, Hole, Achievement or Flight Prizes. Individuals and companies may also donate items for the Premium Door Prize drawings.
Another form of sponsorship consists of contributing “Goodie-Bag” items to be distributed to all our golfers. This is our way of saying “Thank You” to the golfers for their participation and it recognizes sponsors for their support. Goodie-Bag items may be promotional, or “Logo,” items that range from golf tees, divot tools or ball markers to golf towels, golf balls, logo hats, etc., or other items (restaurant gift cards, Home Depot/Lowe’s gift cards, etc.) that advertises a company’s name. Donations are Tax Deductible.
AFCEA is a non-profit organization, and your generosity translates directly into scholarship support for deserving young men and women and STEM Teaching Tool Awards (STTA) for teachers in the Hampton Roads community. AFCEA scholarships help ensure the future scientific and engineering excellence of the United States. We hope you will find some way to invest in that future.
We would very much appreciate your participation as a sponsor at the Tier (Platinum, Golf, or Silver), Pavilion, Beverage Cart, Flag Pin, Hole-In-One, or Technology Sponsorship or as a Hole, Achievement, Flight, Premium Door Prize, or Goodie-bag Sponsor. All Sponsors are featured on our rolling marquee at our Chapter monthly luncheon and in our promotional literature. Tier (Platinum, Golf, or Silver), Pavilion, Beverage Cart, Flag Pin, Hole-In-One, and Technology Sponsors receive Special Recognition signage the day of the event.
Thank you, in advance, for your participation on behalf of the future recipients of AFCEA scholarships.
