AFCEA Northern Virginia (NOVA) Chapter

Upcoming AFCEA Northern Virginia (NOVA) Chapter Events

Join AFCEA NOVA and participate in the Dulles Honor Flight Send Off. We will cheer on our nation’s veterans before they board their plane to return home.
Since 2005, the Honor Flight Network has made it possible for more than 200,000 veterans from all services to visit Washington DC and other memorial sites from more than 130 locations across the country. The Honor Flight program brings our veterans to DC from all over the country so they can visit the memorials together and honor our fallen service members.
As a greeter for the AFCEA NOVA Honor Flight Send Off, you’ll play an important role in welcoming a group of veterans returning home (to Chicago area) from their Honor Flight trip. You will arrive at Dulles Airport a few hours before the flight departs, gathering with fellow greeters in the baggage claim area, and lining up to warmly greet and cheer for the veterans as they pass through. You’ll have the opportunity to shake hands, thank them for their service, show support, and contribute to a moving and patriotic experience. Greeters are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue—or military uniforms if applicable—and will receive a commemorative red t-shirt (while supplies last.) The send-off event typically lasts around two hours and also provides a great chance to connect and network with others in the community. This is a family-friendly event, children and other family members are welcome to join, please include them as additional people on your registration.

AFCEA NOVA is proud to present its Annual Golf Outing!
Join DOD, government, and industry golfers for another year at Westfield’s Golf Club supporting the Chapter’s goals for STEM Scholarships and Grants. This event is a great way to entertain clients, network with members, or just enjoy a day out of the office.
The tournament is a 9:00AM Shotgun Start “4-Person Scramble,” and provides the opportunity for men and women of all skill levels to have a great day on the links. Golfers will enjoy complimentary drinks, lunch, games, and prizes plus an awards ceremony during the day’s end cocktail reception.
In order to comply with the chapter’s ethical standards, all self-registered military and government personnel will be randomly paired with industry participants. We will attempt to honor pairing requests; however, guaranteed specific pairings must be identified 7 days in advance with no exceptions.
