CMMC continues to evolve, leaving many small and mid-sized defense contractors uncertain about what is required today, what may change next, and how aggressively they should move forward. For smaller businesses, the challenge is particularly significant: traditional compliance approaches can involve multiple consultants, service providers, security tools and substantial ongoing cost and effort. In some cases, the burden becomes large enough to call into question whether pursuing or maintaining defense business is economically worthwhile.

This session will focus on a more practical approach to CMMC for small businesses. We’ll discuss how organizations can prepare for the requirements without building an enterprise-sized cybersecurity and compliance operation—and how modern technology and automation are changing the economics of compliance.

What Attendees Will Learn:

• Where CMMC stands today and what recent developments mean for small defense contractors
• What to prioritize now while the regulatory and assessment environment continues to evolve
• How to reduce the cost and complexity of CMMC through better scoping, consolidated tooling and new automation solutions
• How to implement and maintain the required controls when you have limited internal IT or cybersecurity resources
