Export Control Reform Webinar

Earlier this year, the Obama Administration announced new rules that will change the landscape of ITAR and EAR regulations for many defense companies who work with ITAR regulated items.  The rules are effective October 15, 2013.  The rule initially changes USML Category VIII, aircraft.  But, they will apply to all USML categories as more changes are published later this year.  We’re offering this training session to help you prepare for the reforms.  

This webinar is specifically developed and offered for NDIA members.  We will focus on an overview of the reforms and provide helpful guidance for companies who are impacted by the new rules.

The webinar will be held from 12:00pm-1:00pm eastern standard time. You will receive a link via email on August 7, 2013 that will have access instructions for the webinar.

Topics to be covered include:
- Overview of the new rules and the framework for moving items from ITAR to EAR
   controls
- Reviews of USML Categories VIII and XIX, and the new 600 series of ECCNs in the EAR
- Classification re-review exercises for items moving from USML to CCL controls
- How to evaluate current licenses and take steps to ensure adequate coverage after
   October 15 (e.g., new licenses, grandfathering licenses, exemptions, etc.)
- Communications to send to suppliers, customers and other internal/external
   stakeholders in your supply chain
- Other issues related to the reforms and helpful tools
