Simplified Acquisitions Spending Report - Department of Treasury FY13/14

Procurements made using Simplified Acquisition Procedures are one of the easiest ways for Government agencies to acquire supplies and services. For vendors, it generally does not require the award of a contract vehicle like the GSA Schedule nor the tremendous up-front investment of competing for a "hunting license.” While buys made this way account for billions in government spending every year and these streamlined acquisitions continue to be a substantive business opportunity, it is an opportunity often overlooked and misunderstood by federal contractors of every size and discipline.

A quick review of a U.S. Government repository of transaction data shows more than two million contract actions occurring during fiscal years 2010, 2011 and 2012 resulting in purchases of more than $41 billion dollars in goods and services worldwide, in support of requirements for nearly every federal agency, board and commission.

The Simplified Acquisitions Spending Report provides an up-to-date and substantive look at streamlined purchasing agency-by-agency for buys executed using the Simplified Acquisition Procedures, including those exceeding the Simplified Acquisition Threshold.

Participants will be exposed to a substantive overview of what Simplified Acquisitions are as well as a glimpse at spending for the previous three fiscal years. The heart of this presentation is a dive into the YTD spending for the selected federal agency to include:

  • Which organizations in the agency are buying?
  • What are they buying (i.e., goods, services and specific NAICS and PSCs)?
  • What is the extent of competition?
  • What award instruments are used?
  • What are the principal places of performance?
  • and more!

The education and intelligence received during the webinar combined with a copy of the presentation will leave participants armed with practicable information to help them engage federal agencies for SAP/SAT business opportunities.
