UAVs – Challenges and Opportunities

The analysts forecast the Global Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) market to grow at a CAGR of 3.17 percent over the period 2012-2016. One of the key factors contributing to this market growth is the increase in UAV launch. The Global UAV market has also been witnessing an increase in R&D. However, the rapid technological changes could pose a challenge to the growth of this market.

SMis masterclass hosted by Bournemouth University will address some of the more recent challenges to this form of warfare under inclusion of aspects of counter-insurgency or counterinsurgency (COIN)) before addressing the opportunities to use UAVs in combat and COIN.

Key benefits to this masterclass are:

- You will gain updated knowledge of the use of UAVs/UCAS in combat and COIN
- You will acquire a better understanding of the legal and political ramifications of the use of UAVs
- You will have the opportunity to raise questions of interest to you during group discussions
