Implications for Contractors of the Acquisition Workforce Qualification Initiative

Join me and Sandy Sieber, member of the Spectrum Group and former First Director, Army Contracting Agency (ACA) in a lunch time discussion with Barbara Smith, a former Dean of the Defense Acquisition University (DAU).

The session will be held live at the Spectrum Office in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. The conference room overlooks the Potomac River and has a great view of Washington, D.C. We have room for 50 people for the on-site event. Lunch is part of the free registration. It will be a great networking opportunity as well as educational about the AWQI. Speaker and Presenter Information

Barbara is currently the program lead for the Acquisition Workforce Qualification Initiative (AWQI) (a “Better Buying Power Initiative”) reporting to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Acquisition (ASD(A)), the Honorable Katrina G. McFarland. A major focus area of Better Buying Power 2.0 is to "improve the professionalism of the total acquisition workforce," and an element of that is to "establish increased professional qualification requirements for all acquisition specialties.
