GEOINT for the Young Adventurer: A Presentation from Matthew Moniz



Geospatial intelligence is needed by adventurers around the globe. Join USGIF for a free, imagery rich presentation by Matthew Moniz, who will show us the importance of geospatial, terrain, and weather knowledge, and how all are essential to climbers. Speaker and Presenter Information

Moniz, age 16, is one of Colorado’s most accomplished young alpinists, having climbed four of the Seven Summits. He also holds the world speed record for summiting the highest points in all 50 states in just 43 days. In 2010, Moniz was recognized by National Geographic as an Adventurer of the Year. In the spring of 2012, Matt led an expedition of family and friends to Everest Base Camp by way of a second summit of Kala Patthar.
