Doing Business With The US Government - Strategies For Success

On September 19, SMC member Leech Tishman and will present a workshop on federal contracting in collaboration with SMC and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Pittsburgh office. Entitled, “Doing Business with the U.S. Government: Strategies for Being a Successful Federal Contractor,” the workshop will be held at the Rivers Club from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Join us for an informative session on the art of federal government contracting, presented by local and Washington, D.C.-based government contracting experts. The U.S. government is the largest buyer in the world. Given the complexities and competitiveness related to selling to the public sector, it is important for businesses of all sizes to understand how, what, and why the government purchases goods and services on behalf of the American public.

Strategies and key steps to doing business with the public sector will be presented, as well as success stories and tips that foster success in the federal marketplace. Prime contractors from Washington, D.C. will attend who are interested in meeting representatives of Pittsburgh-based small businesses.

Topics range from GSA Schedule contract vehicles to the politics of government contracting and federal contract compliance. Kevin White from the Small Business Administration in Pittsburgh will attend, as well as federal prime contractors to be announced. Networking opportunities will be available at the breakfast and at lunch roundtables with prime contractors.
