Global SOF Symposium 2015

The conduct of war continues to shift: from large-scale clashes between nations to those characterized by unconventional methods, as well as long-term engagements with and against non-state transnational groups. As a result, more nations are increasingly turning to the use of SOF; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) technologies; and cyber warfare to identify, locate, and neutralize these varied adversaries.

This year's Symposium theme is "Anticipate the Future" in order to move beyond a conversation on current operations or trends; instead, this thought-leader event aims to identify the challenges that SOF will face in the future as well as the critical ways in which global SOF must interoperate.

To accomplish this task and forge a public dialogue on the growing importance and critical issues associated with the future of special operations in global security, the inaugural Global SOF Symposium will bring together the broader special operations community of interest, to include: active duty and retired military and police, government civilians, industry, academia, journalists, and non-governmental organizations.
