International Forensics Symposium - Forensic Science Error Management
FBC is excited to be working with NIST on the International Symposium on Forensic Science Error Management: Detection, Measurement, and Mitigation taking place July 20-24. Industry and government exhibitors will be highlighted July 21-23.
Symposium
The symposium will give forensic science practitioners and researchers from around the world the opportunity to discuss best practices for identifying and reducing errors in forensic science labs. Sessions and talks will address quality assurance and bias and ethics topics relevant to every subdiscipline within forensic science.
Organizers are planning the meeting around several tracks:
- Criminalistics and Digital Evidence
- Legal and Human Factors
- Crime Scene and Death Investigation
- Lab Management and Quality Assurance
The symposium will consist of combined plenary sessions, breakout lectures, poster sessions, and panel discussions.
The proximity to many Washington based government agencies (e.g. NIH, NSF, etc.) will expand the impact of the meeting and we are planning for attendance in excess of 1000 participants. Participation will include industrial, governmental, and regulatory colleagues from all over the world. Delegates at this conference will include VPs and Directors of Research, Senior Scientists and Researchers, managers from forensic companies and practitioners, as well as leading academics.
The sharing of knowledge and developments in forensics is essential to gaining a competitive advantage and enhancing research efforts. In addition, the conference will attract leading companies as exhibitors and technology showcase presenters. These companies represent suppliers of technologies, laboratory instruments and consumables, and service providers that are critical to forensics research.
