Speaker and Presenter Information

Joe Klimavicz became the Justice CIO in May 2014. As CIO, Klimavicz provides strategic direction, management services and oversight to cross-component information technology efforts, and IT infrastructure services such as telecommunications, desktop and data center services and IT security. He previously served as the CIO of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) at the Department of Commerce. Klimavicz also served as deputy CIO for the National Geospatial- Intelligence Agency from December 2003 to January 2007. He received a U.S. Presidential Rank Award for Distinguished Executive Service for his outstanding efforts in information technology in 2012. Klimavicz received Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering degrees from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1983 and 1988, respectively.
