Relay Users Workshop
Training will be held in Bldg 67, Hungry Horse Conference Room (next to the cafeteria) on September 14 and 15, 2010, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Background: This 2-day course will familiarize participants with protective system testing directly related to the new Facility Instructions, Standards and Techniques (FIST) Volume 3-8 and North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) PRC-005.
The course will also discuss the Bureau of Reclamation's Relay Information System (RIS) or Advanced System for Power Engineering, Inc. (ASPEN) Database. What you will learn: The course will cover testing of instrument transformers, protective relays, battery systems, and power circuit breakers. Basic operation of primary and secondary test sets, review of single-line and protection drawings, and site implementation will also be presented.
Who should attend: Relay technicians, electricians, and electrical engineers. Both classroom and limited hands-on training will be provided to participants.
Tuition: There are no tuition costs for this training course. Participants will be placed on the roster once electronic supervisory approval has been obtained.
