NAVAIR Luncheon Featuring Mr. Sean Burke, Program Manager, Persistent Maritime Unmanned Aircraft Systems Program Office



Mr. Sean Burke is the Program Manager for the Persistent Maritime Unmanned Aircraft Systems Program Office (PMA-262). He assumed this role in December 2014.


As the Program Manager, Mr. Burke provides leadership and oversight for PMA-262 in the development, production, fielding and sustainment of all persistent maritime unmanned aircraft systems, including the Acquisition Category (ACAT)-1D MQ-4C Triton Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) program, the U.S. Navy’s largest investment in unmanned systems to date. The MQ-4C Triton UAS will provide unprecedented persistent maritime intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance to the fleet.

 

The Broad Area Maritime Surveillance-Demonstrator (BAMS-D) program is also under his program portfolio supervision. BAMS-D is currently providing operational support to fleet forces in theater, airspace integration efforts across all groups of unmanned systems, and various international program efforts. Mr. Burke has been with the program, previously as principal deputy program manager, since April 2011.

Mr. Burke has acquisition leadership and management experience across the spectrum of program phases and ACAT levels, including the Unmanned Carrier Launched Aerial Surveillance and Strike System, Joint Strike Fighter, EP-X, VH-71 Presidential Helicopter Replacement, X-45 Unmanned Combat Air System, GQM-163A Supersonic Sea Skimming Target Missile and other missile, rocket and ammunition programs.

Mr. Burke has extensive operational experience as a Marine Corps officer and AH-1W pilot, including service as an instructor at the Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron 1 and as a staff officer for the 1st Marine Regiment.

Mr. Burke received a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of Akron.
