USGIF Small Satellite Workshop - Unclassified Day
USGIF is hosting the Small Satellite Workshop as the opening event for this year’s GEOINT Community Week.
Registration is now clowed.
The day-long agenda will include keynotes and panels from top leaders in government and industry as well as a number of displays, demonstrations, and learning opportunities from subject matter experts and industry innovators.
Advances in sensors, processing, communications, miniaturization, and manufacturing have fueled remarkable growth in the development of small satellites. Once the purview of universities and laboratories, small satellites are proving value to the commercial sector with some forecasts calling for hundreds of small satellites by the end of this decade. Meanwhile NASA, the military, and the Intelligence Community are examining smaller, low cost, and rapidly delivered satellites as a way to conduct both primary and supplementary missions in support of both national and tactical needs. NGA leadership sees the use of small satellites as a key aspect of the agency’s future.
