NGA Cyber Security Day

For the past five years, October has been designated as National Cyber Security Awareness Month by the U.S. Government. National Cyber Security Awareness Month is designed to engage and educate public and private sector partners through events and initiatives with the goal of raising awareness about cybersecurity and increasing the resiliency of the nation in the event of a cyber incident. In conjunction with this initiative, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency will be hosting a Cyber Security Day on October 15, 2015, with emphasis on the importance of protecting oneself when connecting to the Internet while on the go.

This event is the NGA's annual cyber security training and awareness refresher for all employees. The annual event is set up to provide a forum for NGA employees to learn about the latest threats and solutions related to both work and home computers.  There are a series of seminars and educational sessions taking place throughout the month of October and the cyber security exposition will provide another avenue for employees to understand how they can mitigate the security risks associated with their mission.  All companies and organizations who can provide technologies and solutions to further protect against the rising security risks are invited to exhibit at the vendor exposition taking place alongside the seminars.
