5th Annual Mobile Technology Summit
To build on the success of the July 2015 DOD CIO Mobility Industry Day, AFCEA Washington, DC is continuing the dialogue on how government can capitalize on commercial innovation and will include industry’s response to the DOD CIO, other civilian agency and military services organization plans.
The 5th Annual Mobile Technology Summit to be held January 21, 2016 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center presents best of breed mobile solutions from industry and government which solve real-world, tactical and in-garrison challenges.
Attracting 400+ government, military and industry leaders, the event will focus on “ROI for Mobile Insertion into the DoD Enterprise” and will explore the implementation, security, management and deployment of mobile devices, applications, sensors and infrastructure. Topics include:
- Emerging Technologies – This panel will provide a sneak peek into capabilities you can expect to see deployed in the near- to medium-term future.
- Application Ecosystems – Applications are the operational components that realize the business value of the mobility investment. This panel will discuss the ramifications on ROI of three areas: fostering innovation, enabling rapid development, and enabling "cyber-safe” applications.
- Internet of Things – This panel will tackle how the mobile Internet of Things is providing greater efficiency in the DoD supply chain by leveraging new hardware and the power of big data analytics.
- Tactical Mobility and Cloud – This panel will work towards identifying a secure tactical mobility road map considering the capabilities that the commercial industry can provide and factoring in the complications that the tactical edge places on such solutions.
Mobile Working Group
Hosted by the AFCEA Washington, DC (DC) Mobile Working Group, the annual Summit began in 2012 and has since grown to be a marque industry day of continuing education and networking. The DC Mobile Working Group provides an ethical forum through which military, government, industry, nonprofits and academia can exchange mobile technologies and best practices. Where mobile solutions are deemed critical to the Mission, we seek a common commitment to investing intellectual and strategic resources toward their successful adoption:
- Clarify Requirements
- Leverage both private sector best practices and gov’t pilots lessons-learned
- Highlight the emergence of new technologies and their impact
- Elevate mobile thought leadership
- Identify and eliminate roadblocks to successful government adoption of mobile/wireless capabilities
