Women in Municipal Government Summer Conference

Established in 1974 and celebrating its fortieth anniversary with NLC last year, the Women in Municipal Government (WIMG) constituency group was formed to serve as a forum for communication and networking among women local elected officials and their colleagues within the National League of Cities (NLC). It strives to raise awareness about issues of concern to women and families, and it encourages women to seek public office in their communities.

Attend this year’s Annual Summer Conference to:

     - Enhance your network with female elected officials and statewide leaders
     - Learn about issues in special seminars that help to expand your skill sets
     - Strengthen your governance skills
     - Adapt community arts programs as best practices for your community
     - Attend the WIMG Board of Directors Meeting
     - Find solutions to challenging problems in your hometown
     - Consider becoming a future leader in WIMG and NLC

Why you should attend
The meeting will include sessions that offer creative solutions for local leaders about women in business, handling the political media, coping with gridlock in Washington, DC, women’s health issues, corporate giving, and the future of metropolitan planning organizations and grassroots influences.

All NLC members and colleagues with an interest in women and family issues in their communities are all welcome to attend.

Training Seminar
There will also be a skills training session. A benefit of membership in WIMG is access to training and networking opportunities.
