Today's Threat of Complex, Coordinated Attacks: Education & Training for Public Safety

Complex, Coordinated Attacks (CCAs) have no jurisdictional boundaries. These events evolve quickly and they often occur with little to no warning. Victims can be of any age or gender; attackers’ methods, weapons, and tactics vary. American law enforcement and other public safety organizations will be challenged by the advent of CCAs on our soil. We’ve seen the beginnings in Boston & San Bernardino, but have yet to experience assaults on the scale of those in Beslan, Mumbai, Nairobi, & Paris. How prepared is your city to respond? During this 60 minute webcast, Don Alwes will: provide a review of recent attacks with a focus on lessons learned; highlight trends in tactics (such as swarming and hostage-sieges); describe potential scenarios; and offer recommendations for law enforcement, 911, Fire, EMS, EM, and the private sector on how to develop policies and capabilities to mitigate the threat these attacks represent.
