Inclusion in Communications: Is Diversity Part of Your Communications DNA?
Across our nation we are seeing dramatic changes in the demographics of our communities. Our target audiences are changing. To communicate effectively we need to rethink our strategies and make diversity and inclusion part of our communications DNA. Preeti will share with us the unique award-winning strategies created and implemented by the city of Renton, Washington, to build an inclusive and informed city with opportunities for all.
Speaker and Presenter Information
Preeti Shridhar, Deputy Public Affairs Administrator, Renton, Washington, reprises her well received plenary presentation at the NAGC 2016 Communications School. Ms. Shridhar works with the Mayor and Chief Administration Officer and manages the city’s Communications Division. She is responsible for internal and external communications, the city’s government-access cable television, media relations, website, print and graphic design and social media. She has won an Emmy®, a Telly, and awards from the Public Relations Society of America and the national City-County Communications and Marketing Association. She has a master’s of business administration in marketing and finance from the University of Minnesota.
