Drinking Water 101: What You Need to Know Seminar

This one-day training program presented by American Water Works Association is aimed at providing useful water industry basics for the customer service representative, admin personnel, utility board member, city council member, or newcomer to the drinking water field.

the future reality of drinking water, plus more.

Speaker and Presenter Information

Chet W. Auckly -- Chet recently retired from the drinking water industry after 35 years of a stimulating and enjoyed career. His experience was quite varied: he served as a bench scientist (chemistry and microbiology), manager (laboratory, water treatment operations, and water quality), and executive manager (laboratory, water quality, and environmental affairs). He has held numerous volunteer positions in the drinking water industry: Chair of CA/NV Section AWWA, National AWWA Board of Directors, Chair Nevada Operators Certification Advisory Board, and member of the CA/NV Section AWWA Water For People Committee.

Chet has given more than 50 technical presentations in drinking water and water reclamation and is a Registered Environmental Health Specialist in California and Grade 4 Water Treatment Operator in Nevada.

Kathleen Auckly -- Kathleen has more than 10 years of experience in the drinking water field as a data analyst for water rates and for water treatment, and she has managed her own tutoring business for math and sciences in the Reno area for the last 15 years. She is a graduate hydrologist from UNR. Currently, Kathleen is working with her husband Chet on several educational programs for drinking water professionals.
