Alan Saltman is a Partner in the Washington, DC
office of Smith, Currie & Hancock LLP. His practice covers the areas of litigation, government contracts and appropriations law, providing advice to clients working in the public sector and in a wide variety of
industries that include construction, manufacturing, timber, helicopter services and concession contracting. Prior to entering private practice, Alan was an Attorney-Advisor at the Government Accountability Office. Accordingly, he has extensive experience in matters involving contract solicitation and award and bid protests. In addition, he has substantial expertise in contract claims strategy and quantification, and issues relating to the availability of appropriations.

In addition to having experience involving many federal agencies (both civilian and
military), Alan has extensive experience as lead counsel in complex litigation cases.
These cases have included bid protests and claims before the Boards of Contract
Appeals, the United States Government Accountability Office, the United States Court
of Federal Claims, United States District Courts, United States Courts of Appeals, and
the United States Supreme Court.

Kathleen Hsu is an Associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Smith, Currie & Hancock LLP. Kathleen concentrates her practice in the areas of construction law, litigation, government contracts and appropriations.

Kathleen received her undergraduate degree from Furman University, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts, double majoring in Political Science and Asian Studies. She received her Juris Doctor from American University, Washington College of Law. She served as Managing Editor of the American University Business Law Review. She was also a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, where she competed on the Jessup International Law Moot Team and won the 2013 Mid-Atlantic Super-Regional Competition.

While in law school, Kathleen worked as a Law Clerk for the United States Civilian Board of Contract Appeals where she gained experience in government contracts, timber, and construction matters. She also clerked with the General Services Administration, Suspension and Debarment Division.
