Lessons Learned From AWWA's Benchmarking Program

This webinar uses examples from AWWA’s Benchmarking Program to show utilities how to use benchmarking data to improve their performance. The process of performance measurement is key to performance improvement. Using results from AWWA’s annual benchmarking survey, utilities can focus their efforts on areas with gaps and set improvement targets. The webinar will give an overview of annual survey results, present example utility “scorecards,” and offer ways to leverage the information for internal and external communications and benefit. Utility examples of performance improvement will highlight initiatives that measure results using benchmarking.

Improvements in efficiency and effectiveness are necessary for utilities to meet customer expectations, manage rates, and meet more stringent regulations. Webinar attendees will gain understanding of the importance of performance measurement for improvement and how to engage workers in the process.

Utilities are challenged today to be more transparent in reporting to customers and stakeholders.  Attendees will gain insights for better ways to communicate results and justify their priorities.
