Advances in Distribution System Modeling

This webinar is an introduction to the fourth edition of the AWWA Manual of Water Supply Practice M32, Computer Modeling of Distribution Systems. The webinar will provide details of key areas of improvement included in the updated edition as well as an overall review of the manual’s contents; and, information will be presented on how to use the manual.

The main goal of the webinar is to publicize the M32 fourth edition as well as present basics plus recent advances in modeling. Tips and tricks contained in this new edition will be mentioned, and two main topics of interest to modelers will be covered: data management and model maintenance.

The M32 Manual is an important reference for those new to modeling but also provides helpful tips and tricks for experienced modelers. The key changes in the new fourth edition can help all modelers expand their knowledge of the modeling frontiers. The main point of this webinar is that hydraulic modeling is an essential tool not only for planning but also for day-to-day operations of water distribution systems.  The M32 Manual is projected to help modelers learn more about different types of modeling and different modeling techniques. The webinar will provide attendees with a succinct overview of what’s in the manual and how to use it.
