The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs OSDBU focuses on growing small businesses, ensuring that they are procurement-ready and able to engage with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

During this program, Mr. Leney will discuss the importance of Small Business to the VA in addition to steps Small Businesses can take in order to grow and succeed in the federal market.  As with all ACT-IAC events, audience participation is highly encouraged and attendee collaboration is vital for success.

Speaker and Presenter Information

Thomas J. Leney

Executive Director for Small and Veteran Business Programs, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs

Thomas is responsible for programs that promote small business participation in VA procurements, with special emphasis on Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses and Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs and VOSBs). 

 

His personal experiences as a government contractor have enabled Mr. Leney to mentor small businesses on the complexities of the federal acquisition process. His earlier work at Winrock International and the United Nations Foundation overseeing the development of projects to support the U.S. Government and the United Nations around the world has given him an understanding of the importance and the complexities of program and partnership development on many levels
