February Monthly Speaker Series

Since the Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA) was passed in December 2014, this Administration has worked with Congress to implement the law. In an effort improve Information Technology (IT) operations and acquisition, OMB and the Agencies have implemented about 46% of the 800 related GAO recommendations, according to the GAO.

What will happen in the next administration? Congress just issued their third FITARA Scorecard, ten Chief Information Officers involved in FITARA reform will soon be replaced, and some serious effort to fine-tune the FITARA reforms have been proposed. The proposed repeal of other legislative reforms has led to speculation on whether FITARA reforms will be supported by the new administration. How Agencies will implement IT reforms and manage their operations and acquisitions will critically impact their IT industry partners.

Join AFFIRM and contribute to the debate with key Congressional, OMB, Agency panelists along with industry participants to map out an action plan for reform in these uncertain times.
