Introduction to Combat Systems Engineering


This event qualifies for 8 PDH


Intro to Combat System Engineering introduces participants to the basic principles, processes and products of Combat System Engineering utilizing a structured, disciplined, and documented systems engineering approach. This approach enables multidisciplinary teamwork and product development needed to satisfy operator requirements. Participants have the opportunity to apply the skills they’ve learned in the classroom through group exercises while hearing real-life scenarios from the instructors.

Speaker and Presenter Information

Tom Pugh has 40 years’ experience in design, development, integration and test of Navy surface combatants including CG-47 Class Cruisers, DDG-51 Class Destroyers and DDG-1000 Class Destroyers. This includes all phases of design and development from operational and functional analysis through design, software development, system integration and test of major combat systems.

 

Bob Donoghue has over 40 years design, development, integration and test of surface ships including, FFG-7 Class Frigates, CG-47 Class Cruisers, DDG-51 Class Destroyers, LPD-17 Class Amphibious Ships, and DDG-1000 Class Destroyers. This includes all phases of design and development from operational and functional analysis through design, software development, system integration and test of major combat systems.

 

Erika Parenti has 16 years’ experience in weapons control systems, design, development, integration, and test. Most recent experience is system engineering, integration and test of the Aegis Combat System.  This includes all phases of systems engineering including operational and functional analysis, design, computer program development, system integration, modeling, simulation, and test.
